East Gippsland Nest Box Project
Funded by the Landcare Led Bushfire Recovery Grants Program, Phase 2 of the landmark East Gippsland Nest Box Project (EGNBP) is off to a fantastic start with the project already doubling in size, seeing more than 500 new nest boxes constructed and installed.
Farmers take up carbon sequestration in WA
The practice of carbon sequestration is gaining momentum in Australia, and three environmental organisations have joined forces to help farmers start capturing and storing carbon.
Platypus among 50+ threatened species to benefit from landmark wildlife recovery program
In Gippsland, Victoria, more than 1 million hectares of land burned in in the Black Summer Bushfires. Concerned about the impacts on platypus populations in their area, the East Gippsland Landcare Network worked with Wildlife Ecologist Josh Griffiths and EnviroDNA to investigate the long-term repercussions of the fires.
Cultural Burning film airs on the BBC
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) recently broadcast excerpts from a Landcare Australia film about Traditional Owners and cultural burning practices in Australia. This included interviews with Victor Steffensen, a descendant of the Tagalaka people and Indigenous fire practitioner.
